SPIRITUAL
DIARY FOR 7/17/2025 9:08 AM
My
Worship Time Focus: “The Goal of His
Commission”
Bible
Reading & Meditation Reference: 2
Timothy 4:5d
Message of the verse: “fulfill
your ministry.”
The first thing
that I want to say is that this will be a very short SD, ad this will finish up
looking at what is the 10th chapter in John MacArthur’s commentary
on 2 Timothy.
Now
finally Timothy was to fulfill the
unique ministry given to him by the Lord. Plerophoreo
(fulfill) is the ninth and final
imperative and this carries the basic idea of giving full measure or bringing
to completion in relation to a person’s work, it also carries the ideas the
ideas of eagerness and wholeheartedness.
MacArthur
writes “That was the way Paul sought to fulfill his own ministry. He assured the congregation at Colossae,
24 Do
you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives
the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. 25 Everyone who competes in the
games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a
perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box
in such a way, as not beating the air; 27 but I discipline my body and make it
my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be
disqualified.
“The apostle wanted Timothy also one
day to be able to say what he himself was about to say: “I
have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith”
(2 Tim. 4:7).”
Spiritual meaning for my life today: Right now with all of the issues going on in
my life and because I am down because of these issues that are going on then
what Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:7 is
really something that I needed to read.
It is my desire to continue to fight the good fight, and to finish what
the Lord has called me to do, which I believe is writing my Spiritual Diaries,
and posting them onto the internet, and do this each and every day. I need to keep the faith that God is using me
to bring glory to His Son, which is what I want to do even though it is always
a battle to do so.
My Steps of Faith for Today: I trust that the Lord will allow me to go the
a conference this morning to hear a message, which I was invited to come to
hear, and that I will learn things from this message that will help me to grow
in the Lord.
