PT-3 "The Kingdom of Heaven may be entered from Different Circumstances" (Matt. 13:44-46)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 5/3/2022 9:08 AM

My Worship Time  Focus:  PT-3 “The Kingdom of Heaven may be entered through different Circumstances”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                     Reference:  Matt 13:44-46

Message of the verses: 44 "The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, 46 and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.”

As mentioned in our last SD we want to talk about the second parable today as the second parable, on the other hand, depicts a man whose life business was searching for the thing that he eventually found.  This man represents the seeker after God who for years looks everywhere for meaning and purpose in life, trying one religion or philosophy and then another.  In the course of doing this all his seeking and study, he still is a very confused person, and he is also a very unsatisfied person.  Even though he finds nothing to satisfy him he continues to look and to believe that there is something or Someone who can bring satisfaction to his hurting soul.

Here is an example from the book of Acts that speaks to this situation:  26 But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, "Get up and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza." (This is a desert road.) 27 So he got up and went; and there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure; and he had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and he was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, "Go up and join this chariot." 30 Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?" 31 And he said, "Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?" And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32  Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this: "HE WAS LED AS A SHEEP TO SLAUGHTER; AND AS A LAMB BEFORE ITS SHEARER IS SILENT, SO HE DOES NOT OPEN HIS MOUTH. 33 “IN HUMILIATION HIS JUDGMENT WAS TAKEN AWAY; WHO WILL RELATE HIS GENERATION? FOR HIS LIFE IS REMOVED FROM THE EARTH." 34 The eunuch answered Philip and said, "Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else?" 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. 36 As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?" 37 [[And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."]] 38 And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing.

There are some other examples in the Bible that I will just mention the verses and if you want to you can look them up.  Cornelius’ conversion is listed in Acts and the significance of this is he is the first Gentile convert to the church in the New Testament.  Another Gentile is Lydia found in Acts 16:14-15, and both Jewish and Greek worshipers in the synagogue at Berea found in Acts 17:10-12.

We will conclude this SD with a story from John MacArthur:  “Several years ago I met a couple attending our church who were celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary.  The husband had been blind for a number of years and they were visiting from a distant state.  They told me they had sought God all of their married lives, trying one religion after another and finally ending up in the Unity cult.  They soon came to realize that that religion was just as empty as their lives, and they went home from a service one day in utter despair.  They turned on the radio and came across one of my broadcasts.  After listening intently during the first half of the message, they both broke down in tears and said to each other, ‘This is the truth for which we’ve been searching for fifty years.  At last we’ve found it!’

“All of those men and women were looking for spiritual pearls and found the one that was priceless beyond their greatest hopes.”

It is my immense hope that the Spirit of the Lord will guide people to find this blog who have been either looking for something and have not found it but after reading this the Spirit will cause them to surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
