SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 5/10/2022 10:41 AM
My Worship Time Focus:
PT-1 “Peril”
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: Matthew
13:50
Message
of the verse: “50 and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that
place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
I have mentioned my thoughts on hell and whether or
not it is occupied at this time, and have stated that according to Revelation
20:13-15 we read the following: 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in
it, and death and Hades
gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of
them according to their deeds. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.
This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was
not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” Ok I have to say that I usually do not disagree
with John MacArthur, but after reading Erwin Lutizer’s book “One Minute After
You Die” I have changed my mind and believe that only after the Great White
Throne Judgment will people then go into hell for eternity. Now that does not make hell any less desirable
or less terrible a place to be, and so with that said we will move onto our
comments on Matthew 13:50 which, if anyone is reading this SD today and does
not believe that there are places like heaven and hell then I pray that you
will pay close attention, for believe me they both exist. Read the following “Mt 25:41 “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from
Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels.” This verse is a warning for people who will
be living in the Tribulation Period and will not help believers out, for this
time will be the most terrible time on earth to live in, and believer’s will
certainly need a great amount of help just to survive and those who will not
help them Jesus said that they will be sentenced into hell.
John MacArthur writes “Perhaps no
doctrine is harder to accept emotionally than the doctrine of hell. Yet is is too clear and too often mentioned
in Scripture either to deny or to ignore.
Jesus spoke more of hell than any of the prophets or apostles did—perhaps
for the reason that its horrible truth would be all but impossible to accept
had not the Son for God Himself absolutely affirmed it. It had special emphasis in Jesus’ teaching
from the beginning to the end of His earthly ministry. He said more about hell than about love. More than all other teachers in the Bible
combined, He warned men of hell, promising no escape for those who refused His
gracious, loving offer of salvation.”
I have to say that I feel in some
ways like the authors in the Bible other than Jesus to be able to talk about
this subject of hell and certainly do not feel qualified to write about it, but
for the sake of what I pray that the Holy Spirit will use these SD’s on
judgment that we have been going over for the past several days I find that it
is necessary for me to write about this awful subject to warn those who might
read these SD’s of what the consequences will be if you don’t realize that
Jesus came to earth to die for you, to take your sins in His own body on the
cross, to offer you the free gift of salvation by confessing that you are a
sinner and that you sin, and that the only way to gain heaven and miss hell is
to accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus offers you by asking Him to
come into your life to save you. It
sounds so simple but it is so true.
We will continue looking at this
subject of hell in our next SD’s.
Remember it is not what I have to
say about this subject, but what the Bible has to say about it.
