PT-1 "The Condemnation of the Unsaved" (Matt. 25:41-46)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 4/4/2024 7:36 AM

My Worship Time                                            Focus:  PT-1 “The Condemnation of the Unsaved”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                    Reference:  Matt. 25:41-46

Message of the verses:  41 “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; 43 I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ 44 "Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ 45 "Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 "These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.’”

Let me begin by reminding you that these two chapters, 24-25 are speaking of the thing that go on during the tribulation period.  Next remember that although Jesus is the one talking here the King that He is referring to is Himself.  With that reminder we will move on and look at the last part of Matthew chapter 25.

There is something about being on the right side, and I should say the right hand side.  I remember studying the OT book of Judges and there was a left-handed “Judge” who was ruling Israel and while studying this with the aid of Dr. Warren W. Wiersbe he stated that probably something happened to this judges right hand and that is why he was using his left hand.  In the book of Genesis while Jacob was about to die he gave blessings to each of his sons and also two of Joseph’s sons and while doing this to Joseph’s sons he crossed his hands and put 13 Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel’s left, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel’s right, and brought them close to him. 14 But Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on the head of Ephraim, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, crossing his hands, although Manasseh was the firstborn. 15 He blessed Joseph, and said, "The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day, 16  The angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the lads; And may my name live on in them, And the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And may they grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth." 17 When Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on Ephraim’s head, it displeased him; and he grasped his father’s hand to remove it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head. 18 Joseph said to his father, "Not so, my father, for this one is the firstborn. Place your right hand on his head." 19 But his father refused and said, "I know, my son, I know; he also will become a people and he also will be great. However, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations."  On more and that is when Jesus went back to heaven that He sat down at the right hand of the Father.

With that said we see that to the lost who will be gathered on His left the king will say, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels.”  These will be joining the unredeemable devil and his angels in the eternal fire of hell will be those human beings who refused to believe.

MacArthur writes “It is just as obvious that Christ does not condemn these people because they failed to serve Him (vv. 42-43) as it is that He does not save the others because they did serve Him (vv. 34-35).  These are accused because they rejected Christ, just as those who enter the kingdom are righteous (v. 37) because the accepted Him.  Their rejection of Christ left them in a state where they were not able to do righteous deeds.”

This statement that I just wrote is a very important statement to read and to understand for it has to do with the salvation of the righteous and those who have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.  As seen the righteous, those who accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord will go into the kingdom and those who do not accept Him as Savior and Lord will go to the place that was made for the devil and his angels.

It was today 77 years ago that I was born into this world, but it was a little over 50 years ago, January 26, 1974 that I was born-again into the family of God.  I was almost 27 years old when the Lord saved me and the problem with being saved at 27 is that I had a lot of hard living done by that time.  The important thing is that the Lord saved me, which is the most important thing that can happen to a person.
