My Worship Time Focus: PT-4 “Lovers
of Self”
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: 2 Timothy
3:2-4
Message of the verses: “2 For men will be lovers
of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents,
ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving,
irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of
good, 4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers
of God;”
I begin this SD by quoting from John MacArthur’s
commentary on 2 Timothy as he explains “The roots of the modern infatuation
with self-love can be traced to the humanism of the nineteenth century, especially
in the development of evolutionism. If
man is seen as the product of impersonal chance, God is ruled out, making the elevation
of self perfectly acceptable. Because
there is no basis for right and wrong, the individual’s natural bent to
self-centeredness is reinforced, and he fins consummate justification for being
his own god who does his own will. Each
man is captain of his own ship and master of his own fate and cannot allow his
self-will to be hindered or he does harm to his well-being.” I have written in many of my Spiritual
Diaries similar things to this quote about evolution as I have stated that I
truly hate evolution because it throws God out of the picture all
together. It is a lie from the evil one
and it has caused so much trouble in the world today. People who believe that we are an accident
which is what evolutionists believe then have no need of God and as they look
at the world situation going on today with wars and rumors of war they become
frightened. As they look at the great
growth in our population then they become frightened of that also and devise
plans to get rid of great numbers of our population for fear of not having
enough food to survive on. All one has
to do is to read both the Old Testament prophets and then what Jesus, Paul, and
John wrote about what will happen in the end times, and when I speak of end
times that all began at the beginning of the Church age, however the Bible
speaks about things like the “rapture” which will take the real church into
heaven before what is called the “Tribulation” period comes which will begin
when what the Bible calls the Antichrist will come into power over the whole
world and he will seem to solve many of the world’s problems in the first three
and a half years of his reign, but then will make the mistake to turn on Israel
and then there will be many killed, for the cause of Christ as during the “Tribulation”
period many will come to know the Lord as their Savior and this will go against
what the Antichrist wants. This period ends
with the second coming of Christ back to planet earth while Armageddon is going
on which could actually destroy the entire earth if the Lord Jesus Christ would
not come at that exact time. This can be
seen in the later parts of the 19th chapter of Revelation. After that blessed event the Lord will
separate the sheep (believers) from the goats (unbelievers), and will re-do
planet earth and then that will begin the Millennial period, the time which was
promised to Israel as the Lord, the Messiah will rule from His throne in
Jerusalem. After the 1000 years is over
Satan will be let out of hell for a short time, bring his followers against the
people of the Lord, loose and then all of them will return to hell forever and
ever. Next their will come the “Great
White Throne Judgment” where all unbelievers will go before the Lord and at the
end will cast them all into hell with the devil and his angels forever. After that the earth along with the rest of
the universe will be burned up. Then
there will come a new heaven, a new earth, and a New Jerusalem where eternity
will begin. Perhaps now you see why I
hate evolution so much as it hides the truths of Scripture.
I did not intend to write about all of this, this morning
but lies of evolution brought me to write the truth, where evolution is Satan’s
lie that many, far too many people believe, so I wanted to tell the truth.
