PT-3 "Worry is unfruitful because of our Master" (Matt. 6:25)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 1/2/2021 3:24 PM

My Worship Time                                 Focus:  PT-3 “Worry is unfruitful because of our Master”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                 Reference:  Matthew 6:25

Message of the verse:  25 "For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?”

We will be looking for the second reason as to why contentment is found in God, as we looked at the first reason in our last SD.

Now second a believer should be content because God controls everything.  I mentioned earlier that a new friend of mind passed away on Christmas day and if I have ever meet a man who was content it was him, and those who spoke at his memorial service mentioned it many times today.  We will now once again turn to David who gives us the right perspective found in 1 Chronicles 29:12 where he writes “Thou doest rule over all, and in Thy hand is power and might; and it lies in Thy hand to make great, and to strengthen everyone.  We will look at another great OT saint as Daniel writes the following in Dan. 2:20-21 “20 Daniel said, "Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. 21 “It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding.”

I will now quote from John MacArthur as this will end this short SD and then we will want to look at the third reason to be content in our SD for tomorrow, Lord willing.  “Those were not idle words for Daniel.  The events of Daniel 2 and 6 were separated by many years.  When the jealous commissioners satraps tricked King Darius into ordering Daniel thrown into the den of lions, it was the king, not Daniel who was worried.  ‘Slept fled from’ the king during the night, but Daniel slept soundly next to the lions, whose mouths had been closed by an angel (6:18-23).
