My Worship Time Focus:
Intro to Matthew 9:27-33a
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: Matthew
9:27-33a
Message of the verses: “27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him,
crying out, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!" 28 When He entered the house, the blind men
came up to Him, and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to
do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." 29 Then He touched
their eyes, saying, "It shall be done to you according to your faith." 30 And
their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them: "See that no one
knows about this!" 31 But they went out and spread the news about
Him throughout all that land. 32 As they were going out, a mute, demon-possessed
man was brought to Him. 33 After the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke;”
We
begin this SD with some things that perhaps most of us already know. We go back to the creation when God created
Adam and gave him dominion over the earth as he was king of the earth, and had
full right to rule it under God. One of
the many things that he did was name the animals, and when I say name them, the
names that he gave to them had meaning as to what these animals were like. Now we all know what happened next and that
is that Adam sinned which allowed Satan to usurp man’s dominion and to turn the
kingdom of light into a realm of darkness.
So what happened to God’s beautiful creation of earth? Well it became corrupted by ugliness, its
harmony by confusion and full of disorder.
Its health became disease and decay, its happiness by sorrow and pain,
its goodness by sin and evil, and its glory by guilt and shame. We all know the major problem and that is that
Sin turned man’s life into the path to death.
We
serve a wonderful God who almost immediately after that original sin He
promised He would someday use man to restore the kingdom of earth to its beauty
and goodness and to restore man himself to his rightful dominion over it. I may have mentioned that in our Sunday
school class I have begun to teach through the book of Hebrews and looking at
the first three verses along with looking at this introduction from Matthew
9:27-33a there are many similarities and only the Lord could have put this
together so that I would be studying too books of the Bible that are very
similar in that both books, Matthew and Hebrews were written to Jews and so it
is no wonder that there are similar things in them.
We
know that this all happened in the 15th verse of the 3rd
chapter of Genesis where we learn that the Man we are talking about would be
born of the seed of a woman, the only time that is used in the Word of God
because it is the seed of man who brings forth offspring and it is the seed of
man that passes along the sin-nature. Genesis
3:15 speaks of the virgin birth of the coming Messiah. The Old Testament is a preview of what will
happen in the New Testament as throughout the Old Testament we see what is
called “Progressive Revelation” a little bit at a time to show that this One
born of a virgin would come and when He came the first time He would pay the
price for mankind’s sin problem to those who would believe on Him, and then we
also see that He would rise from the dead, go back into heaven and then come
again to take His church back to heaven to serve Him, and then return with His
church in glorified bodies at the end of the Tribulation Period to completely
conquer the earth as He puts Satan, Antichrist, and the false prophet into the
lake of fire. He will rule on earth from
Jerusalem for 1000 years, and at the end of that time will fight one more
battle and completely defeat Satan who will be let out for a short time to
gather many unbelievers to battle the Lord.
It won’t take long before Satan is back in the lake of fire to stay
there forever with all of the lost to keep him company.
Well
I got into something that I did not foresee that I would and so we will
continue this introduction in our next SD.
