PT-4 "The Infinite Reality" (Matt. 22:43-45)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 9/19/2023 8:59 AM

My Worship Time                                                                    Focus:  PT-4 “The Infinite Reality”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                    Reference:  Matt. 22:43-45

Message of the verses:  43 He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying: 44 ‘The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”’? 45 “If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?” (NKJV)

As I read through the rest of John MacArthur’s comments on this section they are some comments on what these verses mean and so as I go through them I will probably quote some of them.  I want my readers to understand that I write these blogs for a number of reasons, and the first reason is to bring glory to the Lord.  Next in importance is to have those who read these who may not be believers, is to understand that everyone is born a sinner, something we have gone over in the past, and so the reason that we sin is because all are born sinners and so that is the natural thing to do.  After realizing this the most important decision that anyone will ever make is to confess this as being true because that is what the Bible teaches and then receive the Lord Jesus Christ into their hearts in order to forgive their sins which will then make them a born-again-believer.  The next step is spiritual growth and perhaps that is the reason that many read these Spiritual Diaries in order to help to grow in the Lord.  A part of that Spiritual growth is to tell others the truth of the gospel in order for them to make a decision about accepting the Lord Jesus Christ into their lives.  This then is full circle to become a believer, to grow in the Lord and to tell others about what happened to you.  There is one more reason that I write these Spiritual Diaries, actually two, but for those who are believes to experience revival in their lives in order to once again begin to grow in the Lord and tell others how they can receive the Lord into their lives.  Each day after putting these Spiritual Diaries onto my blogs I ask the Lord if it is His will that the last person in the Church age would receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord would do so after reading one of these Spiritual Diaries.  If that would then happen then immediately after that the Lord would come to the clouds and call His bride home to be with Him for every more.  It was through the message of the end times which includes the rapture, the tribulation, the second coming of Christ to planet earth, the millennial kingdom, and then the destruction of planet earth and all of the stars and planets which would then begin eternity in the new heaven and the new earth and the new Jerusalem.  The bottom line is that if I chose to quote different authors and preachers in these Spiritual diaries it is to fulfill what I have just written.

With that I will again quote from John MacArthur’s commentary.  “Although Jesus was correcting the Pharisees’ incomplete concept of who He was, He also seems to have been giving them still another invitation to believe in Him.  Several of the scribes, including the lawyer who had asked Jesus about the greatest commandment, commended Him for His wise answers to the questions given to test Him (Mark 12:32; Luke 20:39).  Jesus even told the lawyer that he was not far from the kingdom (Mark 12:34).  There doubtlessly were others in the Temple that day who were tender-hearted and open to God’s truth and who might be led to trust in Him and follow Him as Lord if they were convinced He were truly God’s Son.

“Jesus was obviously no phantom, as some heretics in the early church proposed.  He ate, drank, slept, felt pain, bled, and died.  He was even ‘tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin’ (Heb. 4:15).  He was the Son of Man in every way.  That He was specifically the Son of David was obvious and provable that the Temple records.  And that He was the divine Son of God was obvious from the miracles that He performed without number for everyone to see.

“Jesus shares with God all the attributes of omnipotence.  He is the Creator, the controller of the heavens and earth and all its creatures.  He is the provider of food, the healer of the sick, the raiser of the dead, the forgiver of sin, the giver of eternal life, and the judge of all men and angels.

“Jesus shares with God all the attributes of omnipresence.  Wherever ‘two or three have gathered together in My name,’ He declared, ‘there I am in their midst’ (Matt. 18:20).

Jesus shares with God all the attributes of omniscience.  He knew what His disciples were thinking and what His enemies were thinking.  ‘He did not need anyone to bear witness concerning man for He Himself knew what was in man (John 2:25).

With that we will stop and Lord willing, complete this section on our next SD.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  I am thankful to go over some of the attributes of God, knowing that the Lord Jesus Christ is God and has all these attributes.

My Steps of Faith for Today:  I desire to continue to pray that the Lord will use these Spiritual Diaries in order to bring glory to the Lord, and it is my prayer that the Lord will use them to bring revival to those who are reading them, and I think especially of those in Singapore.
