PT-1 "Sin Is Incompatible With The Ministry of the Holy Spirit" (1 John 3:9-10)

EVENING SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 1/11/2025 10:03 PM

My Worship Time        Focus:  PT-1 "Sin Is Incompatible With The Ministry of the Holy Spirit"

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                      Reference:  1 John 3:9-10

Message of the verses:  9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.”

It is true that the new birth, that is being born of God epitomizes the work of the Holy Spirit as seen in John 3:3-8:

3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4 Nicodemus said to

Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?" 5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 “Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 "The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit,’” (cf. 1:12-13).

MacArthur writes “The Holy Spirit implants in those He regenerates the principle of His divine live, which John pictures as a seed.  Just as a human birth results from an implanted see that grows into a new physical life, so also spiritual life begins when, at the moment of regeneration, the divine seed is implanted by the Spirit within the one who believes.

The instrument by which the Spirit gives new birth to sinners is the Word of God.  The apostle Peter explained to the readers of his first letter,

23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For, "ALL FLESH IS LIKE GRASS, AND ALL ITS GLORY LIKE THE FLOWER OF GRASS. THE GRASS WITHERS, AND THE FLOWER FALLS OFF, 25 BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER." And this is the word which was preached to you” (1 Peter 1:23-25; cf. Ps. 19:7; 2 Peter 1:4).

God had all of this planned from eternity past, what I am talking about is the spiritual new birth, the spiritual walk with the Lord is pictured by how the human body grows and how plants grow.
