SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 11/7/2016 8:53 PM
My Worship Time Focus:
The Crowing of the Lord as King
Bible Reading &
Meditation Reference: Zechariah 14:9-11
Message
of the verses: 9 And the LORD will
be king over all the earth; in that day the LORD will be the only one, and His
name the only one. 10 All the land will be changed into a plain from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but Jerusalem will rise and remain on its site from
Benjamin’s Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and
from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses. 11 People will live in
it, and there will no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will dwell in security.”
Now as we look at verse nine we see
that the first thing that will happen when the Lord returns, that is after He
destroys His enemies, is that there will be a coronation for the Lord, and we
see that the Lord will be King over all the earth, not just the King in heaven
like He is at this time. Now as we
continue looking at verse nine we see something interesting that does not go on
today and that is that the Lord will be the only One who will be worshiped, not
like to day where we have many religions around the world, but in that day only
one.
Now we want to move to verse ten
where we will see what will happen when the Kingdom is set up. Now as we look at verse ten, the first part
of it is very confusing as what we will see is that the topology of this land
will be changed. What is going to happen
is that there will be a very large valley, a valley that we have there at this
moment, but it will even become larger and then at the end of this valley we
will see Jerusalem rise up like a diamond on a ring. Now when we studied Ezekiel chapters 40-48 we
got a glimpse of what Jerusalem will look like during the Millennial kingdom
and we made mention that the topology had to change to accommodate the changes
seen there, so now we see from this section of Zechariah how that change takes
place. Jesus Christ will be ruling the
world from this city of Jerusalem.
Lastly in this section we will look
at verse eleven and what we see there is that people will live safely in and
around Jerusalem. Safely because the
Lord Jesus Christ is ruling the earth from Jerusalem and also because there
will no longer be a cruse for Satan will be put in the fiery pit for the
duration of the Kingdom. Now I do want
to say that people will sin during that day and at the end of the kingdom there
will be a short battle when Satan is let out of his prison to help in that battle,
but during the kingdom age sin will be swiftly dealt with, so the curse of sin
is still around, but the curse of Satan and his demons is not around.
Now we have
just two more sections to look at in the book of Zechariah, a book we began
last April and believe me I had no idea that it would take this long to get
through it, but I believe it is well worth it.
Next after this book is complete we will look at the last book in the
OT, the book of Malachi, and I don’t think that it will take a long time to get
through that book. I began looking at
the NT book of Matthew sometime in the mid 1990’s and had a desire to study
every verse in the entire Bible and my goal, thanks to the grace of God is
about complete and for that I am thankful.
