My Worship Time Focus:
PT-1 “Devastation Throughout the World”
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: Matthew 24:7b-8
Message of the verses: “and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.”
We begin today by looking at the next birth pang and
this one is worldwide, and it is earthquakes, earthquakes like not that have
been seen like this since the world was made.
I have a youtube channel that I just began looking at, and this channel
talks about the weather and earthquakes that happen around the world. When one looks at this channel it kind of
makes one think about what will be happening during the tribulation period, but
during that time things will be much worse, and more things will be
happening. The book of Revelation speaks
also of earthquakes, and even talks about an earthquake that will be unlike
anything like it as if I understand it correctly it will flatten all the
mountains and also get rid of all the islands.
When I looked at the results of that earthquake I thought that because
of the results of it that when the Lord returns to planet earth and sets up
things for the Millennial kingdom that because the world is again all pretty
much flat that He will then make it like it was when He created it the first
time, including the vapor barrier to stop the sun’s rays to come onto the earth
so much and that was why people lived so long when God first created the earth,
and why people will live so long in the Millennial kingdom.
MacArthur writes “Earthquakes, epidemics of deadly
disease, dreadful happenings of various sorts, and awesome changes in the sky
will torment men. They will see the
world begin to disintegrate before their eyes from the unbridled, destructive
forces of evil that will ravage it during those indescribable days.The world
has witnessed many earthquakes, famines, plagues, and even some heavenly signs,
but those will be nothing compared to the calamities of the end times. They will occur in various places and
apparently simultaneously. As some parts
of the earth starve from famines, others will be shattered by earthquakes, others
decimated by plagues, others paralyzed by unspecified terrors and still others
unnerved by changes in the heavens.”
Let
us take a look at what the apostle John wrote in Revelation 6:8 “I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it
had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to
them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with
pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.” Now we will look at verses 12-14 or
Revelation chapter six “12 I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was
a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair,
and the whole moon became like blood; 13 and the stars of the sky fell to the
earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. 14 The
sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and
island were moved out of their places.”
These are called the seal judgments in the book of
Revelation and the first seal judgment begins the first set of three judgments
with seven judgments in them. The second
set of seven judgments is called the trumpet judgments, and I want to talk more
about them in my next SD.
