PT-1"Disputes and Warfare Among the Nations" (Matt. 24:6-7a)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 12/5/2023 9:09 AM

My Worship Time                              Focus:  PT-1 “Disputes And Warfare Among The Nations”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                      Reference:  Matt. 24:6-7a

Message of the verses:  6 “And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom,”

We begin this SD by looking at the second birth pain that will take place during the Tribulation period, as this will involve intensified and unparalleled disputes and warfare among the nations and kingdoms of the world.

MacArthur writes “You will be hearing translates a form of the future tense of mello that carries the idea of continual hearing.  There will be constant talk of actual wars and of rumors of wars, to a degree the world has never known before.”  I have to say that I have been looking at a lot of war news from what is going on in Israel since the 7th of October as Israel is fighting on a number of fronts in the Middle East.  They are actually fighting for their existence as they are surrounded by their enemies, and there are many nations from around the world that very well could get into this war.  What am I saying?  Well the nations that are involved in this war are nations, other than the United States, who are in end time prophecies.  My thoughts on this as I have studied end time prophecies for almost 50 years, and that is that I see the next thing that happens on the prophetic calendar is the Rapture of the church.  After the Rapture of the church I think that it will cause a very difficult time for those remaining here on earth for some time.  I think that what will happen next is that in order to cause some stability in the world that the Antichrist will appear, and at that time he will get involved in what is going on in the Middle East, especially with Israel as he will sign a seven year peace treaty that will begin the tribulation period as seen in the book of Daniel "And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate” (Dan. 9:27).  Now after that “firm covenant” is made that starts what our Lord is talking about in Matthew 24-25, and also what John wrote in the book of Revelation in chapters 6-19.

Now back to our verses for today as we can see that these disputes and warfare that goes on among the nations at that time will go on in a regular basis, and in the end they will explode into a grand holocaust of bloodshed and carnage.

There will be many believers during this time of the Tribulation period and Jesus tells them not to be frightened, and the reason is because those things are certain evidence that God’s plan is unfolding exactly according to His will.  Those events, even though they are ghastly and destructive must take place as Jesus said.  “They are harbingers of the end but they are not yet the end” writes MacArthur.

Lord willing this will be the first of a few more SD’s on this subject, and as stated I think this is a good time to be studying what the prophets and of course our Lord has to say about how this world is fast coming to the events that will take place in the Tribulation period.  I have to say that by watching what is going on in Israel and the surrounding countries I can’t help myself than to add some comments in these Spiritual Diaries from Matthew chapters 24-25, which we will be in for some time I believe, as looking ahead in MacArthur’s commentaries there are 126 pages that are about those two chapters.
