PT-1 "Deliverance of Believers to Tribulation" (Matt. 24:9)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 12/10/2023 7:52 AM

My Worship Time                                     Focus:  PT-1 “Deliverance of Believers to Tribulation”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                      Reference:  Matthew 24:9

Message of the verse:             “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on account of My name.”

In today’s SD we begin to look at the fourth birth pain of the end times and it will be sever persecution of believers by the evil, ungodly world.  Now I know that what we are looking at has to do with the tribulation period, but as I look at what is going on in Israel today as Israel defends is land that God has given to them, that many nations around the world, and many peoples in these nations are lining up against Israel.  God says in Genesis 12:3 “And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.’”  God is speaking to Abram who is the father of the people of Israel, and this goes for Israel for all time, so don’t do anything against a child of Israel just because of who he is, for God will curse people and nations who do this.

John MacArthur writes “Paradidomi (will deliver) has the basic meaning of giving over and was often used in a technical sense for arrest by the police of military (see Matt. 4:12).  After being taken into custody believers will suffer extreme tribulation.  Many will be murdered, and all will be hated by all nations on account of My name.  In his parallel passage, Mark reports that Jesus said, “They will deliver you to the courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them” (Mark 13:9).  The courts probably represent Gentile authority and the synagogues obviously represent Jewish authority, indicating that persecution will come from both groups.  Being identified with Christ’s name will cost believers their freedom, their rights, their respect, and often their lives.”

Now after the church is raptured there will be people who will be saved, many, many people will be saved.  In the nation of Israel there will be 144,000 Jewish evangelists, 12,000 from each tribe to give out the gospel message.  There will be two witnesses who will also give you the gospel message, and there will come a time when even angels get into the act of spreading the gospel message during the tribulation period.  Now we have talked about the two witnesses in earlier SD’s and I have mentioned that my thoughts are that they will be Moses and Elijah as neither of them finished their ministry while on earth.  These two men will be witnesses for three and a half years (Rev. 11:3).  Now during that time period they will be supernaturally protected, but when that time is over the following will happen to them as seen in the 11th chapter of Revelation.  “7 When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. 9 Those from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not permit their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. 10 And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. 11 But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them. 12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." Then they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them. 13 And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.”

Lord willing we will finish this section in the next SD.
