PT-1 "Sin Will Be Too Attractive" (Matt. 24:12-13)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 12/16/2023 9:39 AM

My Worship Time                                                        Focus:  PT-1 “Sin Will Be Too Attractive”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                              Reference:  Matthew 24:12-13

Message of the verses:  “And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.  But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved.”

I begin this SD by writing about a third cause of defection and that is that defection will be the love of lawlessness, which, as it is increased, will cause most people’s love for righteousness, truth, and things of God to grow cold.  Now after living in the United States of America all of my life I have seen this defection happening more and more, especially in the last 7 years as it seems it is like a snowball going down a very large hill getting bigger and bigger all of the time.  My thoughts are, and I have been praying for this is we need in this country to have a Holy Spirit revival, and what I mean by that is that the Holy Spirit will be the one who causes this to happen, and the believers part in all of this is to pray for Him to do this.

I continue to mention that the events that Jesus is talking about are in the future, in the Tribulation period, but these things have been going on every since sin entered the world back in the third chapter of Genesis.  Jesus is saying that in the Tribulation period lawlessness will certainly include disregard for human laws, it will be manifested most vehemently in increased disregard for God’s law.  Evil will multiply so rapidly and unashamedly that many people who are initially drawn to the gospel will turn away from it because of the multiplied enticements of sin.  Now I have seen this happening in our country and there is no doubt that Satan is behind this and is using his people to pull this off.

MacArthur writes “The lawlessness will be diabolically aggressive and unabashed.  Rather than trying to hid their sins, people will flaunt them, and such gross evil will draw many people, including some professed believers away from whatever interest in the things of God they may once have had.

“Describing the same period Jesus is talking about here, Paul warned,

1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2  For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3  unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 4  treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5  holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as

these.

“Global violence, immorality, lewdness, selfish desire, and every other moral vice will run rampant as unbridled sin expresses itself.  Men will be engulfed in a tidal wave of corruption and they will glory in it.”
