The Deception Will Be Too Convincing (Matt. 24:11)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 12/15/2023 9:51 AM

My Worship Time                                            Focus:  “The Deception Will Be Too Convincing”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                    Reference:  Matthew 24:11

Message of the verse:  11 "And many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many.”

In the last couple of SD’s I talked about the fact that the cost was too high for “so-called believers” and so they left and I used the following reference to help us understand this: 1Jo 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.”  Now as we look at verse eleven from Matthew 24 it can be seen that the false prophets that arise will just mislead many people, they will just mislead people and those people will fall for it.  Now once again I want to say that the time period that Jesus is talking about is the Tribulation period, that seven year period that will come shortly after the rapture of the church, that seven year period that Daniel describes as the last week (seven year) period described in Daniel chapter nine where we read “Seventy times seven weeks are determined upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgressions and to make an end of sins and for the forgiveness of the iniquity and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to fulfill the vision of the prophets and to give the most holy to Messiah” (Daniel 9:24 LAMSA). I have explained this in earlier SD’s as Daniel was praying about what would happen to Israel after the 70 years of captivity were over and in Daniel 9:24-27 God answers his prayer.

Now it is during the Tribulation period that false prophets will join the false chrisms (v. 5) in seeking to deceive people about God. Their deception will be very persuasive as they teach doctrines that seem true and godly but are, in fact, false and satanic.  This period of the end times well be filled not only with overt evil such as the world has never seen before but also with false religion that also has never been see like this before.  This will happen until the very end, as Satan will continue to use the guise of an angel of light which is how 2 Corinthians 11:14 tells us “No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”

John MacArthur writes “From Revelation 17 it becomes clear that false religions, here symbolized by the great harlot of Babylon, will flourish.  The figure of a prostitute is used no doubt because the world religious system will prostitute itself, seeking by counterfeit gospels and other means to keep people from the true gospel and salvation.  Despite their outward differences, the religions of that day will have one tacit in common:  hatred for the people of God, the true and purified brothers and sisters of Christ.”

One thing that I want to write about, and that is that after the rapture of the church there will be great problems as there will be planes fall out of the sky because the pilots were believers, there will be car crashes all around the world because believers will be raptured out of their cars while driving them.  There will be panic all around the world as billions of people will just seem to disappear.  People will be ripe to have a person come in and help calm things down and that person will be Antichrist, as many people will see him as a savior.  It will be easier, because of the results of the rapture for other false leaders to rise up and people will be eager to follow them as many people will wonder why their love ones have disappeared from planet earth, they will be very vulnerable.

MacArthur concludes this section by writing:  “It is interesting that a characteristic of end-time false religion will be ‘sorceries’ (Rev. 9:21), which translates pharmakeia, from which we get the word pharmacy.  Both the ancient Greek, and the modern English terms relate to the ingestion of drugs.  The use of mind-altering drugs was common in many ancient pagan religions, and in light of the modern epidemic of drug abuse and addiction, it would be surprising if sorceries of the end time did not include the use of narcotics and hallucinogens.”
