SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 8/7/2025 9:19 AM
My Worship Time Focus: “Timothy the Faithful Son”
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: 2 Tim. 4:9
Message of the verses: “9 Make every effort to come to me soon;
I am beginning the last chapter in John MacArthur’s commentary on 2 Timothy, as I have been making an effort for the most part to study books of the Bible that were the last things that the authors had written in the Word of God. Now I have studied the Book of Revelation two times which I have put onto my blogs, so I see no need in doing that again, for that is the very last book of the Bible. I am also studying Jude, and have been for a while which is the second to the last letter in the Bible. I want to know some of the thoughts that these authors had when it came to the end of their lives, and I suppose that deep in my heart, which has always seemed to be there is that the Rapture of the Church will very soon take place, and that event will be the very last event in the church age, for after that the Tribulation period will come and will last for seven years, which are actually the last seven years of Daniel’s prophecy of 490 years, but you see that when Israel rejected their Messiah, The Lord Jesus Christ, the prophecy stopped with seven more years on it. The event of having the prophecy stop is found in the book of Luke in what has been called Psalm Sunday. 36 As He was going, they were spreading their coats on the road. 37 As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen, 38 shouting: "BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" 39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples." 40 But Jesus answered, "I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!" (Luke 19:36-40).
The highlighted portion in all caps is from Psalm 118:26 which was only to be said when the Messiah comes, and that is why the Pharisees as Jesus to rebuke His disciples, and then Jesus tells them "I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!" This day, which we call Psalm Sunday was exactly 173,880 days after the prophecy that was given in the ninth chapter of Daniel. The days began in the 2nd chapter of Nehemiah when Nehemiah was given permission to go to Jerusalem to rebuild Jerusalem and this sets the time clock which has 490 years on it, but as we see in Luke’s Gospel it stopped with seven years left on it. Now we move onto verse 41-42 of Luke’s Gospel as we read: “41 When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it, 42 saying, "If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.” Jesus next talks about all the horrible things that were going to happen to Israel, and the reason that they are about to happen is because they missed the day when their Messiah came riding into town.
I think that it will be best to look at 2 Timothy in the next SD as I have mentioned that there are times when the Lord seems to be wanting me to share something else, which is what happened this morning.
Spiritual meaning for my life today: Shortly after the Rapture happens the events that Jesus spoke about will happen, the events of the time which is called the tribulation period, which will actually be much worse than what He was talking about in Luke 19. When Jesus came the first time and was rejected some 40 years later Israel was destroyed for the second time, and when Jesus comes in the Rapture to end the church age, Israel will almost be completely destroyed before He returns to planet earth at the second coming.
My Steps of Faith for Today: It is my desire to be ready for the Rapture to happen, by keeping myself clean from sin, and when I seen confess it to the Lord, but be ready for the trumpet to sound so the dead in Christ will rise first and then we who are alive will be raised to meet the Lord in the clouds.
