“Wild Sea Waves” (Jude 13a)

EVENING SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 8/10/2025 9:33 PM

My Worship Time                                                                                   Focus: “Wild Sea Waves”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                              Reference:  Jude 13a

Message of the verse:  “wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam;”

I have mentioned that these groups of Spiritual Diaries are all going to be very short, especially this one.  Jude is taking events that are natural in nature and then using them to explain what these apostates are doing, and it is all wrong.  Let me go back and quote from the introduction of this section of these two verses to remind you of what we are looking at. “In man of His parables, the Lord Jesus used natural phenomena as object lessons to illustrate spiritual truth, the parable of the tares and the wheat in Matt. 13:24-30, 36-43; the kingdom parables of Matt. 13:31-33, 44-50; the parables of fig trees in Matt. 24:32-34 and Luke 13:6-9; and the parable of the lost sheep in Luke 15:3-7.”  I suppose that Jude being the half brother of our Lord has picked up on these examples from the Lord and are using them in his letter that he has written.  Now back to our section for this evening.

`”Scripture often uses the sea as a symbol for those who do not know God.  ‘The wicked are like the tossing sea,’ Isaiah wrote, ‘for it cannot be quiet, and its waters toss up refuse and mud.  ‘There is no peace; says my God, ‘for the wicked’’ (57:20-21).  In the aftermath of a storm, the seashore is littered with debris and mire, which is neither beneficial nor life-giving.  That is a graphic picture of what false teachers produce.  With all their empty talk and self-serving activity, they are like wild waves.  In the end they are casting up only their own shame like foam.  Their disgraceful attitudes and actions froth up to display all forms of heresy, deception, immorality, irreverence, and insubordination.”

We have one shorter SD in this group which, Lord willing will look at in tomorrow night’s SD.  Tomorrow my wife and I celebrate our 52nd wedding anniversary.
