SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 1/6/2024 8:14 AM
My Worship Time Focus:
“Sinful Corruption”
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference:
Matthew 24:28
Message of the verse: “Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.”
I have to say that this will be one of the shortest
Spiritual Diaries that I have ever written, but hopefully we all will learn
something from this verse because it is the Lord Jesus Christ who is speaking
here and as mentioned many times He is talking about the Tribulation Period,
which will be the last seven years on our earth where things will go like they
have since the flood, but after it is over things will change, change for the
good for those who have accepted the forgiveness that Jesus has to offer
because of his death, burial, and resurrection from the dead.
This part of this SD will be a direct quote from John
MacArthur’s commentary.
“That statement was possibly a common proverb in
Palestine, as it could be in many parts of the world. Even in highly civilized modern societies, vultures
circling over the carcass of a dead animal are not an uncommon sight in the
countryside, especially in remote areas.
“By the end of the Great Tribulation, the world will have
filled up its full measure of sin and will have spiritually decayed into a wretched
and virtually lifeless carcass. As it
lies like a dead animal in the wilderness, Christ will appear to make final
disposition of that corpse through His righteous and terrible judgment.”
I have mentioned in earlier SD’s that the Tribulation period
is the last seven years of the prophecy found in the 9th chapter of
Daniel. By the time it comes the Church
age will have ended with the rapture of the Church found in 1 Thess. 4:13-18,
as this last period begins with the Antichrist signing a peace treaty with the
nation of Israel, then in the middle breaks it with them and begins to kill
many of them in the last three and a half years which is called “The Great
Tribulation.” This will end at the
second coming of Jesus Christ to planet earth as with the sword in His mouth
will end the last battle on planet earth as seen in the 19th chapter
of the book of Revelation.
People who are alive today can be sure that they do not
have to be a part of the Tribulation Period, but first of all confessing that they
are sinners, and then ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive all of your sins,
past, present and future. Invite Him
into your heart where He will give you the Holy Spirit to aid you in living a
life for God. This sounds simple and it
is simple, but the simple truth is that no one can save themselves on their
own. You can’t live a life that is
pleasing to God unless you belong to Him through Jesus Christ. Pray this simple prayer in faith. “Dear Lord I realize that I am a sinner and I
also realize that on my own I can do nothing in order to be pleasing to
You. I believe that Jesus Christ took my
place on the cross in order to pay for my sins, and that He died and was in the
grace for three days, and then was resurrected from the dead because He of
Himself did nothing wrong. Save me to
Your glory and cause me to live my life to be pleasing to You, in Jesus’ name,
Amen.” Do this and your life will never
be the same as you will be a child of the King.
