The Sequence of Events (Matt. 24:29a)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 01/08/2024

My Worship Time                                                                      Focus:  “The Sequence of Events”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                 Reference:  Matthew 24:29a

Message of the verse:  “But immediately after the tribulation of those days”

I have to say that I don’t think that I have ever did before in writing my Spiritual Diaries to put onto my blogs, and that is write this one the evening before I will post it as we are headed out on a vacation, something that we have not done for a long time.  Because of the time change we will be in the Spiritual Diaries that are posted onto my blogs will be done later than that have been.

Let us look at the word “immediately” for a moment, and this tells us that Jesus is stating unequivocally that the central sign of His return will occur right after the Great Tribulation, and remember the “Great Tribulation” is the last three and a half of the seven year tribulation period.

MacArthur adds “The context makes clear that those days refer to the preceding days of tribulation that Jesus has just been describing (vv. 4-28).”  Let us look at verse 21 “21 for then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall.”  This verse shows that the final days will be unsurpassed tragedy that will mark the end of the present world age, days during which sin will be unrestrained on the earth, the church will have been raptured, and Satan will have been allowed almost unrestricted freedom in his final but futile attempt to usurp rule of the earth for himself.  Needless to say that this will be a very terrible time to be alive on planet earth and as mentioned earlier the Abomination of Desolation is the mid-point of the Tribulation period.  We have talked about this in earlier SD’s, but this will be the most horrible time for the Jews since their race began way back in the 12th chapter of Genesis.   The good news is that the Lord will come at the end of this Great Tribulation and settle all accounts of the people who have not become believers.

In the last chapter we stated that at this time two of every three Jews will die during those days.  They will be killed in Palestine where they will be slaughtered, so only one third will remain after this is over.  Today is the day of salvation as the Bible says, so don’t wait until the church is gone receive Jesus Christ today.  I have also spoke of the fact that out of these who will be saved are 144,000 Jews who will evangelize the world during this time, twelve thousand from each of the twelve tribes of Israel.  MacArthur adds “Those Jews will be supernaturally sealed and protected by God, and no effort by the Antichrist or his collaboration will be able to destroy them.”
