Divine Rejoicing (Zech. 10:7b)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 9/8/2016 9:56 AM

My Worship Time                                                                                     Focus:  Divine Rejoicing

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                 Reference:  Zechariah 10:7b

Message of the verse:  “7 “Ephraim will be like a mighty man, And their heart will be glad as if from wine; Indeed, their children will see it and be glad, Their heart will rejoice in the LORD.  “7 And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD (KJV).”

What this verse looks to be saying is that the Lord will cause Israel to rejoice and those affects will be like they had too much to drink, but this verse is really not talking about these people getting drunk on wine.  God will give them a supernatural happiness, so that their hearts will be rejoicing in the Lord, and why not for the promise of the long awaited kingdom, something Israel has been waiting on since God called Abram is about to begin.  We can also see that the parents of the children will receive this joy from the Lord and they too will rejoice also as the verse tells us.  Hanna had a similar experience when she learned that she was going to have a child.  “1 Then Hannah prayed and said, "My heart exults in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD, My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation. 2 "There is no one holy like the LORD, Indeed, there is no one besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God (1 Sam. 2:1-2).”  In Isaiah 66:10-14 we see a prediction that there will be joy in the kingdom:  “10 "Be joyful with Jerusalem and rejoice for her, all you who love her; Be exceedingly glad with her, all you who mourn over her, 11 That you may nurse and be satisfied with her comforting breasts, That you may suck and be delighted with her bountiful bosom." 12 For thus says the LORD, "Behold, I extend peace to her like a river, And the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; And you will be nursed, you will be carried on the hip and fondled on the knees. 13 “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; And you will be comforted in Jerusalem." 14 Then you will see this, and your heart will be glad, And your bones will flourish like the new grass; And the hand of the LORD will be made known to His servants, But He will be indignant toward His enemies.”  It will be Israel who will give the comfort to the whole world during the Millennial Kingdom.

We have one more to look at in our next SD and that is a divine gathering, with that we will conclude the 10th chapter of Zechariah.
