PT-4 The Coronation of the King (Zech. 6:13)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 7/1/2016 9:56 PM

My Worship Time                                                           Focus:  PT-4 The Coronation of the King

Bible Reading & Meditation                                     Reference:  Zechariah 6:9-15

Message of the verses:  “ 9 The word of the LORD also came to me, saying, 10  "Take an offering from the exiles, from Heldai, Tobijah and Jedaiah; and you go the same day and enter the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, where they have arrived from Babylon. 11 “Take silver and gold, make an ornate crown and set it on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest. 12 “Then say to him, ’Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Behold, a man whose name is Branch, for He will branch out from where He is; and He will build the temple of the LORD. 13 “Yes, it is He who will build the temple of the LORD, and He who will bear the honor and sit and rule on His throne. Thus, He will be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two offices."’ 14 “Now the crown will become a reminder in the temple of the LORD to Helem, Tobijah, Jedaiah and Hen the son of Zephaniah. 15 “Those who are far off will come and build the temple of the LORD." Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. And it will take place if you completely obey the LORD your God.”

Let us begin by looking at another prophecy very similar to this one from Psalm 110:4 “The LORD has sworn and will not change His mind, "You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.’”  Now we may ask what kind of priest was Melchizedek?  As one looks at the story in Genesis about Melchizedek they will find out that he was also a king and a priest as he was the king and priest of Salem later to be known as Jerusalem.  Abraham gave tithes to him.  Let us look at a couple of verses from the book of Hebrews “And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.”  This speaks of Him being Priest and Hebrews 1:13 of Priest “But to which of the angels has He ever said, "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET"?”

Now the fifth element tells us from verse thirteen “and the counsel of peace will be between the two offices."’”  This tells us that Jesus Christ will make peace between the two offices of Priest and King.  John MacArthur explains “Listen to this. Do you know how in America today and in many countries of the world there is a clear separation between...what?...church and state. Not in the kingdom. He will harmonize both. He will bring both into one. And even in Israel, throughout Israel's history, how many times the king was vile and the king was rotten. On the other hand you had the priests and the prophet crying out to God and there was no harmony. And how many times in the history of the world has there been a terrible dichotomy between religion and politics? Not in the kingdom because the same One who rules with the role of King is the same One who intercedes and makes the worship of the true God the measure of every man, the Lord Jesus Christ. No discord, no disharmony.”     7/1/2016 10:11 PM
