PT-1“A Reliant Meekness” (Jonah 3:9)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 11/03/2025 10:15 PM

My Worship Time                                                                       Focus:  PT-1“A Reliant Meekness”

Bible Reading and Meditation                                                                      Reference: Jonah 3:9

Message of the verses: “Who knows, God may turn and relent and turn away from His burning anger so that we will not perish.”

I look at what is about to happen as a great revival, and it is the Lord who will provide this revival like He does for every revival.  I have been praying for revival in our country for many years, but it really has not come.  Now when Charlie Kurk was killed it seems that there is a revival going on in certain parts of our country for which I am very thankful.  However great revivals are spurned by the Holy Spirit of God, and it is my hope that there will be a great revival before the rapture of the church, for once the rapture of the church happens then all of the true believers, both dead and alive will be gone into heaven and that means that there will not be any true believers left on the earth until the Holy Spirit of God begins His work in what the Bible calls “The Tribulation Period” which will last for seven years and after that the Lord Jesus along with His saints will return to planet earth and after a short time will start what is called the Millennial Kingdom which lasts for a thousand years, and after that judgment day will happen for all unbelievers from the past up through the Millennial Kingdom.  Soon after that the earth and all the planets will be destroyed: 10  But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up” (2 Peter 3:10)  After the lost are judged is when this happens, and then after the worlds are destroyed the Lord makes the new heavens and the new earth and the new Jerusalem where believers will live.  All of this is described in Revelation 19-22.  I realize that I have gotten off the track, but as those who read my Spiritual Diaries know that the Lord saved me by using the prophetic Word in the Bible and it has always been the thing that I have loved to study as I look for the day when the Lord returns to the clouds above the earth and calls His Church home, for that will be the best day of all believers lives.

I will now end this SD by quoting the very first paragraph in this section from MacArthur’s commentary:  “In light of Nineveh’s repentance, the king expressed a level of hope for himself and his people.  He said, “Who knows, God may turn and relent and turn away from His burning anger so that we will not perish.”  With the words “who knows,” the king acknowledged his utter reliance on divine mercy, since he had no ability to control or manipulate God’s response.  Nineveh’s ruler could not know if God would relent, since Jonah’s preaching did not explicitly provide any such assurance.  Nevertheless, the king still urged his people to repent, in the hope that God would show them mercy in the place of judgment.”

Spiritual Meaning for my life Today:  Revival always begins with prayer, so it is my thought that someone in Nineveh had to be praying for it.

My Steps of Faith for Today:  I trust the Lord to bring a great revival into our country and around the world before the rapture of the church.
