I am going to do something a bit different in this Spiritual Diary, and so I will skip looking at the book of Jonah for today. It was a couple of days ago that a lady from our church called me and asked if I would be willing to talk to a couple of men who were in a nursing home about the Lord. She knows that because of my wife having cancer that my time is precious to me, but I told her that I would do this as I really think that this is what the Lord would want me to do. These men may be believers and may not be believers so it would be my job to talk to them about the Lord, and show them the way of salvation if they are not believers and if they are, because they would be new believers then I would want to help them grow in their new faith.
It was many years ago that I wrote a Bible Tract and it seems that this would be the thing to start with and so I want to put this onto this SD to be read and perhaps someone who is not a believer will read it and then become a believer, or it could be passed onto others to be used for that purpose. At any rate, just like all of the Spiritual Diaries that I write and put onto my blogs, I will leave this up to the Lord as to how His Spirit will use it.
THE WORD OF GOD
I. THE WORD OF GOD AND SIN.
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus the Lord.”
II. THEWORD OF GOD AND SALVATION.
Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved, for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”
Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, but which we must be saved.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has eternal life: but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on Him.
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one comes to the Father, but through Me.”
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
John 1:12 “But as many as received Him to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.”
Romans 5:1 “Therefore having been justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
III. THE WORD OF GOD AND THE ASSURANCE OF SALVATION.
1 John 5:13 “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.”
John 10:27-30 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish, and not one shall snatch them out of My hands. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”
“I and the Father are One.
IV. THE WORD OF GOD AND GROWTH
Colossians 2:6 “As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.
1 Peter 2:2 “Like newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the Word, that by it you may grow in respect to salvation.”
2 Peter 3:18 “But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”
V. THE WORD OF GOD.
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
