EVENING SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 11/11/2025 7:50 PM
My Worship Time Focus: PT-4 “God’s Supernatural Revelation”
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: 2 Peter 1:19-21
Message of the verses: “19 So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. 20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, 21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”
This is a long section so it will take me a number of SD’s to finish this section. I will begin where I left off yesterday.
Now we can see from verse 19 that Peter likens Scripture to a lantern that provides light to a dark and sinful world. Take note that the calendar of redemptive history moves toward a day God has designated for the glorious event when Jesus Christ returns in full, blazing splendor and majesty (Matt. 24:30; 25:31; Titus 2:13; Rev. 1:7; cf. Col. 3:4). I will quote these verses because of the great day that they will describe, and do this in a moment. Now when that day dawns, Christ will terminate the temporary earthly night of sin and spiritual darkness returning in glory to establish His kingdom. The apostle John describes this in Revelation 19:11-16, and so after I quote these verse from above, then in closing of this SD I will quote these great and wonderful verses from Revelation 19:11-16.
30 "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.
31 "But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.
13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
7 BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.
4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
Now notice that all of these verses speak of the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to planet earth which we will look at with the verses in Revelation 19:11-16 which actually describe the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to planet earth. Now all of the saved people in the church age from the time it began until the time it ends at the rapture will have been taken to heaven in the Rapture of the Church, and like I said the verses above speak of that great event called the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, and all of those raptured at the end of the church age will be with the Lord as He returns in triumph and believers will be riding horses as we return with the Lord who will be on a white horse. Now we will look at Revelation 19:11-16.
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."
John MacArthur writes at the end of these verses the following: “The bittersweet even marks the climax of God’s salvation purpose and His judgment of the wicked (cf. Isa. 2:12; 13:6; Zeph. 1:14; 1 Cor. 1:8; 3:13: 4:5; Eph. 4:30; 1 Thess. 3:13; 2 Thess. 1:7; 2 Tim. 4:1; 1 Peter 2:12.)
