PT-1 The Conmemnation of God's Enemies (Zech. 6:1-8)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 6/22/2016 10:18 PM

My Worship Time                                          Focus:  PT-1 The Condemnation of God’s Enemies

Bible Reading & Meditation                                     Reference:  Zechariah 6:1-8

Message of the verses:  1 Now I lifted up my eyes again and looked, and behold, four chariots were coming forth from between the two mountains; and the mountains were bronze mountains. 2 With the first chariot were red horses, with the second chariot black horses, 3 with the third chariot white horses, and with the fourth chariot strong dappled horses. 4 Then I spoke and said to the angel who was speaking with me, "What are these, my lord?" 5 The angel replied to me, "These are the four spirits of heaven, going forth after standing before the Lord of all the earth, 6 with one of which the black horses are going forth to the north country; and the white ones go forth after them, while the dappled ones go forth to the south country. 7 “When the strong ones went out, they were eager to go to patrol the earth." And He said, "Go, patrol the earth." So they patrolled the earth. 8 Then He cried out to me and spoke to me saying, "See, those who are going to the land of the north have appeased My wrath in the land of the north.’”

As we look at this section we are looking at something that has been going on since Lucifer sinned before Adam and Eve sinned, and that is “The Condemnation of God’s Enemies.”  Let us look at Revelation 14:6-7 to begin with “6 And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people; 7 and he said with a loud voice, "Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters.’”  We see in these two verses what the eternal Gospel is as it is described in verse seven, “Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come.”  The theme throughout the Scriptures is that God will punish sin, and reward the righteous, so the condemnation of God’s Enemies has been going on, as stated since the beginning of time.

John MacArthur writes “Now, I want us to look at the vision that unfolds this element of the everlasting gospel.  First of all, let’s look at the symbols in verses 1-3 and this will be interesting…the symbols themselves.”  :  1 Now I lifted up my eyes again and looked, and behold, four chariots were coming forth from between the two mountains; and the mountains were bronze mountains. 2 With the first chariot were red horses, with the second chariot black horses, 3 with the third chariot white horses, and with the fourth chariot strong dappled horses.”  We need to remember that as we looked so far at Zechariah that each time he received a vision that “they were so devastation and so powerful and no doubt had a cumulative effect so by now…when he saw the one in chapter 5, it just overwhelmed him and he actually collapsed and his head was bowed and in each case, he had to lift up his eyes again.”  Now as we look at verse one we see that Zechariah saw in his vision four chariots and during that time period this could only mean war, and these chariots came between the mountains, mountains made out of bronze.  MacArthur says that these chariots were there to bring war upon the nations.  In our first vision that Zechariah reports on had four horses who went out around the world to report on what was going on in the world, and since then they have been sitting there not doing anything, that is until now when they turned into war horses pulling four chariots.  This is where we will stop our SD for this evening and pick it up tomorrow, (Lord willing) to talk about the two mountains.
