PT-1 “Their Practices” (2 Peter 2:13b-14)

EVENING SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 12/14/2025 7:20 PM

My Worship Time                                                                           Focus: PT-1  “Their Practices”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                           Reference:  2 Peter 2:13b-14

Message of the verses:  as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; 14  Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children” (KJV)

“They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime,  They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, as they carouse with you, having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed, accursed children.” (NASB)

Before I begin I have to say that doing my Spiritual Diaries on my new computer has been a great deal of difficulty for me as the program from Microsoft Word I was using was about 23 years old, and so not have the newest version of MS Word has made my old brain rebel, but I am working on it so that I can get back to where I was with my old Laptop, so bare with me as you may see some mistakes.  I successfully downloaded the basic version of Online Bible, a program I have been using for many, many years, but I still have some things to add to this program as right now I only have the KJV of the Bible to use.  I promise that I will continue to work on this so that my Spiritual Diaries can continue to be sent around the world for the cause of Christ.

John MacArthur begins by writing something very resourceful: “As a general rule, sinners tend to engage in debauchery at night:  “For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night”(1 Thess. 5:7).  According to historians, pagan Roman society tolerated dissipation and revelry as long as it was discreetly confined to the cover of darkness.  But it frowned on and disapproved of debauchery during the daytime when it could be viewed by everyone.”  I guess that in our country (The USA) that we have gone a step further along, and that is all bad, for debauchery goes on 24/7 in many cities and towns here, and I am sure that this is very displeasing to the Lord.  “Because of its public nature, such behavior was considered inappropriate, even by Roman unbelievers.  Nonetheless, the false teachers of Peter’s day were so consumed with lust, greed, and vice that they considered it a pleasure to revel  in the daytime, not wanting to wait until nightfall.”  That is such a shame, but one day the Lord Jesus Christ will come to the clouds above planet earth and take His Church home to be with Him in heaven, and then soon after that the antichrist will arise when he makes a firm covenant with Israel to allow them to build their Temple in Jerusalem, and then three and a half years later what is called the great tribulation will begin as the antichrist will offer what some predict a pig on the alter in the new temple and his covenant with Israel will be over.  Three and a half years later the Lord Jesus Christ will return with His bride to end the last world wide war.  It will take the Lord about another 75 days to prepare the earth for His Millennial Kingdom, as one of the things he will do is send the Antichrist, the false prophet along with Satan into hell, along with all unbelievers as He separates the sheep and the goats from each other and the sheep will go into the Millennial kingdom and the goats into hell.  I believe the earth will be similar to what it was when God first created it as seen in the book of Genesis and that means that believers may live until the Millennial Kingdom is over, but the unbelievers of that time will be judged and then go into hell.  There is some more things that will then happen like the Great White Throne Judgment where all unbeliever will be sent to hell after that is over.  Our earth and all we see in the sky will be destroyed which we will talk more about this when we get to the third chapter of 2 Peter.  There will be a New heaven, a New earth, and a New Jerusalem as eternity begins and will never end.

“In light of their passion for perversion, Peter likened those spiritual charlatans to stains and blemishes—two terms that speak of filthy spots, defects, scabs, and things diseased.  Like malignant sores, the false teachers were reveling in their deceptions and openly enjoying the fruit of their sin.  At the same time, they deceived those under their teaching influence (Rom. 16:18; 2 Tim. 3:13; Jude 16-19; cf. Jer. 23:26; 2 Cor. 11:13; 2 Thess. 2:10) by actively promoting wickedness in the lives of their followers.”  Ok I will not quote these verses that MacArthur mentions above, but they will all be in the KJV of the Bible.

“18  For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”

“13  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

“16  These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. 17  But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18  How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19  These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.”

“26  How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;”

“ 13  For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.”

“10  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
