Worship Time Focus: Pt.-4 “The God of Irresistible

Reading & Meditation Reference:
Nahum
1:3b-6
Message of the verses: “ב His way is in the
whirlwind and the storm, And the
clouds are the dust of his feet.4
ג He rebukes the
sea and makes it dry, And dries up all
the rivers. ד Bashan and Carmel
wither And the flower of Lebanon
wilts.5 ה The mountains quake before
him, And the hills melt, ו And the earth burns at his
presence, Yes, the world and all who
live in it.6 ז Who can stand before his
indignation? And who can endure the
fierceness of his anger? ח His
fury is poured out like fire, And the
rocks are thrown down by him.”
I continue looking at this rather
long section of Scripture as I quote from John MacArthur’s commentary and then
add the verses that he has in his commentary on these verses above.
I will now continue to quote from
John MacArthur’s commentary on Nahum, and also put in my own thoughts, along
with adding many of the Scripture references that MacArthur adds in his
commentary.
“God’s ability to strip the land
bare and overturn mountains and hills is not limited to one region of the
world, for indeed the earth is upheaved by His presence. Upheaved fundamentally means ‘to lift up,’
depicting the image of the land moving up and down. The power of God that topples mountains is
also able to raise up the earth from one end of the horizon to the
other. As a result, the world and all
the inhabitants in it will melt before His presence. The world, which includes every place
on the globe, as well as each of the inhabitants of those places, will
be utterly devastated. This cataclysmic
upheaval will take place at the appearance of His presence. The book of Revelation’s description of
what will take place at the Second Coming of Christ demonstrates that Nahum’s
description of God’s power is not hyperbole (cf. Ex. 19:18; Rev. 16:18).”
“18 And Mount Sinai was altogether in a
smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in a fire. And its
smoke ascended like the smoke of the brick-kiln, and all the mountain
quaked greatly.”
“18 And there were rumblings, and thunderings, and
flashes of lightning; and a great earthquake, a mighty and
so great an earthquake such as did not occur since men were on the
earth.”
“When the
Lord appears, the entire earth will toss and turn, rise and fall like the
ocean, and its inhabitants will be thrown into unmitigated dread.”
Now as many of you have read the
different Spiritual Diaries that I put onto my blogs each day you know that I
love the whole Word of God, but the book of Revelation is probably my favorite
book of the Bible. This is because that
the first book of the Bible that I read after becoming a born-again believer in
Jesus Christ was the book of Revelation.
Now this is something that I certainly do not recommend new believers to
do, but because of what the Lord used to draw me to Him back in January of
1974, I did this. Now as we look at this
verse from the 16th chapter of Revelation this describes the last of
the bowl judgments which is the last of the 21 judgments that God used on
planet earth. The first one back in
chapter six was about the antichrist who would be ruler of the entire world for
seven years, and now this last on is a great judgment on planet earth using a mammoth
earthquake. I have studied this section
many times and it is my belief that this earthquake will flatten the entire
earth to put the earth in a similar way it was when God created it. I believe that during the Noahic flood which
took place around the entire world that as the flood waters that were above the
earth during that time period came down onto the earth and the water that was
inside the earth came up which caused great turmoil on this earth caused the mountains
to rise where they are today. In fact I
have read of tropical plants being discovered on Mt. Everest and so this shows
me that at the creation of the earth mountains were not here. I have also read of finding wooly Mammoths found
frozen in Antarctica with food still in their mouth, meaning it was an instant
freeze which happened during the flood as the earth turned on its axis. Yes there is much evidence of a world wide
flood which, as mentioned caused the earth to be in the shape it is in now, but
also as stated I believe this last judgment mentioned in Revelation 16 will
cause the earth to be very similar to what it was when God created. Now when the Lord Jesus returns to planet
earth as seen in the middle of the 19th chapter of Revelation He
will return with all of the Church saints, and then He will stop the war that
is going on and then will begin to judge those who were destroying the earth
putting the lost into the lake of fire represented by “goats” and then allowing
the save from the Tribulation Period to go into the Millennial Kingdom. It is that time when I believe the Lord will
make the earth very similar to what it was when it was created. One of the reasons I believe this is because
there will be people who go into the Millennial Kingdom who will live
throughout it and to me that makes me believe the earth will be very similar to
when it was created. You see when the
flood came, as I explained there was a vapor barrier over the earth which
stopped the radiation rays from getting through and that is why people before
the flood lived a very long period. I
know that many of the things I am writing may not be exactly how things will
happen, but I also believe that it is very possible that this is just the way
things will happen. Here is the bottom line, the Lord Jesus Christ will return
in what is called the Rapture of the Church, and take all true born-again
believers with Him back to heaven as He comes in the clouds, and if you have
not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord you will be left on
planet earth to face the most difficult time that has ever happened on this
earth as billions of people with die in the different judgments that will
happen. Take my Biblical advice and be
born-again. Pray to the Lord confessing that
you are a sinner, as all people born are sinners, with the exception of the
Lord Jesus Christ, and then ask the Lord to come into your heart to save you,
and He will, and then the Holy Spirit will come and live within you to cause
you to grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord. You will have done the best thing you will
ever do.
Spiritual
Meaning for my Life Today: I trust the Lord to continue to send my blogs
around the world as the Spirit of God is doing, and that people will read them
and be saved and also grow in the Lord.
My
Steps of Faith for Today: Trust the Lord to continue to cause me to
grow in the Lord trusting Him with my life to bring glory to Him.
