All Dangers will be Removed (Zech. 14:11)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 10/7/2016 10:10 PM

My Worship Time                                                                Focus:  All Dangers will be Removed

Bible Reading & Meditation                                     Reference:  Zechariah 14:11

Message of the verses:  “11 People will live in it, and there will no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will dwell in security.”

I suppose that there is a question that we should ask as we begin this very short SD, and that question is why we have fears from time to time that come from where we live or perhaps work.  I suppose that there are many factors in answering this question, but I think that as we relate it with verse eleven, the one we are looking at this evening, and that answer would be sin.  Now as we look at this verse we see that there will be no more problem with the people living in the city of Jerusalem during the Millennial kingdom, and that is because the Lord Jesus Christ will be on the throne and sin will not be put up with during that time.

Dr. Wiersbe writes on this subject:  “The mountains round about Jerusalem were for her protection (Pass. 48:1-8; 125:1-2); but now that Messiah is reigning, the city no longer faces danger from enemy invasions (Ezek. 34:22-31).  ‘It will be inhabited’ (NIV) reminds us that only 50,000 Jews were willing to leave the safe and comfortable city of Babylon to live in the ruins of Jerusalem, and even Nehemiah had trouble getting people to live in the city (Neh. 11).  Zechariah has already told us that the children will play in the streets, and the old men and women will sit in the sun and talk together (Zech. 8:4-8).”
