PT-3“Judgment Affirms God’s Prophecies” (Nahum 1:15)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 1/11/2026 8:57 AM

My Worship Time                                        Focus:  PT-3“Judgment Affirms God’s Prophecies”

Bible Reading & Meditation                                                                   Reference:  Nahum 1:15

Message of the verse:  “15 Behold, upon the mountains  The feet of him who brings good news,  Who proclaims peace!  Oh Judah, keep your feasts,  Perform your vows.  For no more  Will the wicked man pass through you;  He is utterly cut off.”

“Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who proclaims good news, Who announce peace! Celebrate your feasts, O Judah; Pay your vows.  For never again will the vile one pass through you;  He is cut off completely.”

I will continue to look at these verses in this morning’s SD, but because it is Sunday morning it  will be a shorter SD than usual.

“Because of the assurance of God’s plan of redemption, Nahum commanded the Israelites:  ‘Celebrate your feasts, O Judah.’  The mention of the feasts is likely reference to the three yearly celebrations during which Israel would journey to Jerusalem—the Passover (Pesach, or the feast of unleavened Bread), the Feast of Weeks (Shavuot), and the Feasts of Booths (Sukkot) (Exodus 23:14-17; 34:18-23; Deut. 16:1-17).”

Exodus 23:14-17; 34:18-23; Deut. 16:1-17)

“14  Three times you shall keep a feast to me in the year: 15  You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. (You shall eat unleavened bread for seven days, as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt, and none shall appear before me empty-handed); 16  and the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors which you have sown in the field, and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labors from the field. 17  Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord GOD.”

“18 ¶  You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the appointed time of the month of Abib; for in the month of Abib you came out of Egypt. 19  All the firstborn of the womb are mine, and every firstborn among your livestock, whether ox or sheep that is male. 20  But you shall redeem the firstborn of a donkey with a lamb. And if you do not redeem him, then you shall break his neck. You shall redeem all the firstborn of your sons. And none shall appear before me empty-handed. 21  Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; in ploughing time and harvest, you shall rest. 22  And you shall observe the Feast of Weeks for yourself, the first-fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year’s end. 23  Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord, the LORD God of Israel.”

“1 ¶  “Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover to the LORD your God, for in the month of Abib the LORD your God brought you out of Egypt by night. 2  Therefore you shall sacrifice the Passover to the LORD your God, from the flock and the herd, in the place where the LORD will choose to put his name. 3  You shall not eat leavened bread with it; seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, that is, the bread of affliction (for you came out of the land of Egypt in haste), that you may remember the day when you came out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life. 4  And no yeast shall be seen among you in all your territory for seven days, nor shall any of the meat which you sacrifice on the evening of the first day remain all night until the morning. 5  You shall not sacrifice the Passover within any of your towns which the LORD your God gives you; 6  but at the place where the LORD your God will choose to make his name, there you shall sacrifice the Passover in the evening, at the setting of the sun, at the time you came out of Egypt. 7  And you shall roast and eat it in the place which the LORD your God will choose, and in the morning you shall turn and go to your tents. 8  For six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD your God. You shall do no work on it. 9  You shall count seven weeks for yourself; begin to count the seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain. 10  And you shall keep the Feast of Weeks to the LORD your God with the tribute of a freewill offering from your hand, which you shall give as the LORD your God blesses you. 11  And you shall rejoice before the LORD your God, you and your son and your daughter, and your male servant and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your towns, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are among you, at the place where the LORD your God will choose to make his name there. 12  And you shall remember that you have been a slave in Egypt, and you shall be careful and obey these statutes. 13  You shall observe the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days when you gathered grain from your threshing floor and your wine. 14  And you shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and your daughter, and your male servant and your female servant and the Levite, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow, who is within your towns. 15  You shall keep a feast for seven days to the LORD your God in the place which the LORD will choose, because the LORD your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, therefore you will surely be joyful. 16  Three times a year all your males shall appear before the LORD your God in the place which he will choose: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Tabernacles, and they shall not appear before the LORD empty-handed. 17  Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which he has given you.”

I have to say that there are many move verses is this paragraph that I am looking at this morning, but I will continue to look at them in tomorrow’s SD because of time for me and also for the fact that as I have stated before it is a great practice when studying the Word of God to compare Scripture with Scripture to best understand what it is you are studying, and I can say with assurance that this is how John MacArthur studied the Word of God, and for that I am grateful.

Spiritual Meaning for my Life Today:  Trust the Lord to teach me from the verses that I have copied and pasted this morning.

My Steps of Faith for Today:  I desire to have an open heart in order to understand what the Lord is teaching to me this morning from our Sunday school teacher and Pastor.
