Peter 3:5-7
Message
of the verses: “5 For [a]when they maintain this, it escapes
their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed
long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by
water, 6 through which the world at that time
was destroyed by being flooded with water. 7 But by
His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire,
kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people.”
I did
not finish the Spiritual diary yesterday because it had many more verses from
John MacArthur’s commentary that I did not put on because of the length of it,
and so all I will do this evening is quote those verses this evening.
“(cf.
Num. 15:31; Deut. 7:9-10; Job 36:12, 17; Ps. 34:16; 78:49-50; Matthew 10:28;
13: 41-42, 49-50; Rom. 1:18; 1 Cor. 6:9-10; Gal. 6:8; 2 Thess. 2:8-10; Rev.
21:8, 27).
“31 Because he has despised the word of the
LORD, and has broken his commandment, that person shall be utterly cut off; his
iniquity shall be upon him.’”
“9 Therefore you know that the LORD your
God, he is God,
the faithful God who keeps
covenant and mercy to a thousand generations with those who love
him and keep his commandments; 10 and he
repays those who hate him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be
slack with him who hates him; he will repay him to his face.”
“12 But if they do not obey, they will perish by the
sword, And they will die without
knowledge.”
“17 But you are filled with the judgment
of the wicked man; Judgment and
justice take hold of you.”
“16 (34:17) פ The face of the LORD is
against those who do evil, To cut
off their memory from the earth.”
“49 He cast on them the fierceness of his
anger, Wrath, and indignation, and
trouble, By sending evil angels among
them. 50 He made a path for
his anger; He did not spare their soul
from death, But gave their life over to
the plague,”
“28 And do not fear those who kill the body
but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear him who is
able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
“41 The Son of man will send out his angels, and
they will gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and those who
practice iniquity, 42 and will cast them
into a furnace of fire: there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
“49 So it will be at the end of the world. The
angels will come out, and separate the wicked from among the just, 50 and cast them into the furnace of fire: there
will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.’”
“18 For the wrath of God is revealed from
heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the
truth in unrighteousness,”
“9 ¶ Or do you not know that the unrighteous
will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10
nor thieves, nor covetous, nor
drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of
God.”
“8 For he who sows to his flesh will reap
corruption from the flesh, but he who sows to the Spirit will by the
Spirit reap eternal life.”
“8 And then the lawless one will be
revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of his mouth and destroy
with the brightness of his coming. 9 The
coming of that lawless one is according to the working of Satan,
with all power, and signs and lying wonders 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those
who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that
they might be saved.”
“8 But the cowardly, and unbelieving, and
abominable, and murderers, and sexually immoral, and sorcerers, and idolaters,
and all liars will have their part in the lake which burns with fire and
brimstone, which is the second death.”
“27 And anyone who defiles, or practices
abomination or a lie will by no means enter it, but only those who
are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”
This
will end the SD from last evening, and please do not get discouraged by just
reading a lot of verses as that is one of the best ways to study the
Scriptures, as you compare Scripture with Scripture.
